UPDATE (February 2012):
Sorry, but I am still too swamped and backed up to read unsolicited manuscripts right now. Please don't send me queries or manuscripts until further notice, probably later in 2012. You can email me and ask questions if you like but be patient and understand that I am buried (Note: I'm the only one reading manuscripts here).
Kevin
When I am taking submissions, this is what this page is going to say:
If you'd like to submit work to Future Tense first e-mail me a query and tell me what you have in mind. I am mostly interested in fiction or personal memoirs. Length is an issue for me, so be aware that my books are usually of the chapbook variety (meaning no more than 48 pages). So if you have a 75,000 word manuscript, I am not going to be your best bet. Also--I should say that I am not interested in genre fictions (sci-fi, mystery, horror, and while we’re at it--no historical fiction). I sometimes publish poetry but it is very rare. Please understand that I only publish three or four books a year, so your chances are going to be slim, even if I like you!
After an e-mail query I may ask you to send me the manuscript with an SASE. But I do have to be ultra-picky. It will take me up to four months to get back to you.
